Whenever im talking to people on discord and open up my terminal emulator or krusader, the sound of my friends completely stop working until i go to the voice and video settings (in discord) and re-select my output device.
Ill try answering any questions you guys might have.

pcmWhen i for example open something like krusader and the audio stops, i check the output device on discord it still says the same device as when it works. To fix it, i basically go to the drop down menu in the discord settings to choose which output device to use and choose the same device again, and it starts working again,

Please don't full-quote previous posts, you're bloating the thread.

You said that before and it's not what I asked.
The differences in the the sinks (or absence thereof) is way more important that the GUI of a client that we already know is disfunctional.

Okay i must have misunderstood your question. I thought it was weird to repeat myself.

What I was asking for was to dump "pactl list sinks" once before and once after you lost the sound in discord (the second time *before* "fixing" it)
