gtkam digikam

I cannot delete or download, save files in either of these programs.

as normal user or root. I can see the thumbnails file or open them for preview.

Sony DSC-P200  PTP mode.

any ideas?

Sony DSC-P200  PTP mode.

Tried not running it in PTP mode?  Don't know about your specific camera, but my DSC-P93 can run as usb mass storage, so I can mount it and get files the ol' fashioned way (which I prefer to all this camera software).

yeah if shows up in .. /dev then just pmount PTP worked on my old Sony Cybershot

yes my normal user is apart of the camera group

also it doesn't work as super user so that isn't the problem.

so the only fix is usb mass storage?

look in /dev see if your camera shows up [when plugged in and on!]

lsusb .. should show something if camera is being detected

it is being detected or how else would I be seeing the thumbnails? and it connects to camera dmesg shows it off/on
