[SOLVED] Menus do not render on Thorium-browser

EDIT: SOLVED turning hardware acceleration off

Using hyprland
gpu nvidia 1070 ti
cpu ryzen5 5600

Sometimes menus look like this

But hovering the mouse over the menu solves it

I have installed qt5 (saw a similar problem) but hasn't solved it.
Any help is appreciated

edit: I changed theme to white but *that* hasn't changed, maybe it's related?
