Freeze resuming from hibernation on Thinkpad Carbon X1 (on battery)

The system freezes when attempting to resume from hibernation (a.k.a. suspend to disk), while the laptop is on battery. The issue does not occur when either (1) resuming while the system is connected to power, or (2) resuming from suspend (a.k.a. suspend to RAM).

I had set up my hibernation routine almost 2y ago and only started having this issue about 2 months ago. I use uswsusp as described in the wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … _hibernate).

The most bizarre thing is that the journal is not throwing any seemingly useful information about the possible causes for the freeze. Only sometimes, I get to see the following log:

I don't see these errors when resuming from suspend-to-RAM or suspend-to-disk with battery. I tried looking for them online and found some other people were having issues with wifi and got similar errors (like https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … #p1918843), but I tried the solutions outlined there and did not play any effect on my resuming not freezing.

I'm running 6.5.7. Happy to provide any other info that's deemed relevant.

PS: I'm not the only user with this error. I found this thread (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2126208) of another Carbon X1 user who had exactly the same problem, but the thread did not go far. I wrote a bit there but decided to create a new separate thread for my problem.
