PC reboots when I try to boot a VM with VMware Player 17.5

Hello

My kernel:

$ uname -r
6.5.7-arch1-1

I installed VMware Player 17.5 with the bundle package, then installed the kernel modules with these commands from
https://github.com/mkubecek/vmware-host … er/INSTALL :

wget https://github.com/mkubecek/vmware-host … 5.0.tar.gz
tar -xzf workstation-17.5.0.tar.gz
cd vmware-host-modules-workstation-17.5.0
make
sudo make install

My pc reboots when I try to boot a VM with VMware Player. Any idea on how to make VMware Player to work?

Thanks.

Examine and/or post the system logs. Is there a specific reason you didn't follow the Arch Wiki instructions?

Re: PC reboots when I try to boot a VM with VMware Player 17.5

I have followed the instructions from the wiki

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VMware#VMware_bundle
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VMware#Kernel_modules

I tried vmware-workstation 17.0.2-2 package from AUR before, but the vmware UI always crashes with segfault when I try to open it.
