Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

I'm sorry this question does not make any sense.  Did you use google translate?  Can you rephrase the question?

Yes, unfortunately I do not speak English
Because of this I have to use Google Translate
I want to make a single sound when I click on the program icon in the dock and the windows manager buttons.

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

Ok, thats much more clear, thanks.

Do you want this sound from every click, or just for one icon in the dock?

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

Then you would want a sound theme.  I do not use xfce, so I may not be much help.

To get better help, you could change your title to "Enable sound theme on XFCE".

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

Can you understand this?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xfce#Sound_themes

As the same link Trilby placed?

To put it simple, you need to install the AUR package at the bottom, once installed, the rest is simple.

The menu for sound theme change is not intuitive (in the classic sense), so it may be hard to use/change.

Package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sound-theme-smooth/

Do each step to your fullest extent, in doubt, ask.

I did all the things mentioned in this section and installed the theme you mentioned.
But one thing I did not know how to do

"canberra-gtk-module" should be in the GTK_MODULES environment variable (re-login may be required);

And now there is no sound when I click on the dock or on the Windows Manager buttons

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

Only Smooth, not full path.

The GTK_MODULES should be done by sane xinitrc or DM. Check it on terminal.

echo $GTK_MODULES

The one you mentioned, I just entered Smooth
And this is the output:

[babak @ spy ~] $ echo $ GTK_MODULES
canberra-gtk-module: appmenu-gtk-module: canberra-gtk-module

EDIT :
I think this is also true
Then I left and entered again!
But still there is no sound when clicking !!

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

Is the package installed?
ReCheck, reLogin or in any care, reboot.

If the SoundThemeName is Smooth, is enabled, and the module is there, everything should work.

Everything was fine
I had not activated only one thing, and activating it solved the problem
I did not check "Enable input feedback sounds" when I clicked the problem was solved

Settings Manager / Appearance / Settings
Check =>
Enable event sounds
Enable input feedback sounds

Thanks

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

Now works on default programs, desktop, menu, Firefox, etc.
But it does not work on Google Chrome browser, gedit editor, virtualbox and all the other programs I installed.

Program must support, if program does not support, there will be no sound.
Not every program support.

Re: [SOLVED] Enable sound theme on XFCE

I did all the steps correctly and restarted several times, but there is no sound in the menus or anywhere else!

The following picture is the proof that everything is correct:

https://imgurl.ir/uploads/x75578_Screen … -40-11.png

$GTK_MODULES
canberra-gtk-module:appmenu-gtk-module:canberra-gtk-module

SOLVED :
Instead of </usr/share/sounds/Smooth> I entered <Smooth> solved!
