According to the wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Undervolting_CPU) "It is no longer possible to undervolt Intel processors with modern BIOSes and microcode...". Is this referring to software undervoltaging? Or is this saying that the offset settings specified in BIOS will be ignored?
edit: Might this be in reference to the Undervolt Protection that Intel pushed to BIOS and microcode? If so, it should be sufficient to find a motherboard (such as Asus's ROG line) which do not enable this feature, correct? Or is it a case of "absolutely does not ever work in Linux" because I'm seeing recent reports of people (presumably Windows people) undervolting their Raptor Lake CPUs?
edit2: https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/comments … ervolting/ That's from Lex, the Intel community manager. So, in general, Undervoltaging isn't impossible.

Which is to say upon booting an OS other than Windows, the BIOS-assigned offsets are ignored? So undervolting Intel processes are functionally a Windows-only thing?
Or are you referring to the Undervolt Protection BIOS update which is OS agnostic? My understanding is that vendors can choose not to enable that. I've certainly been reading about plenty of people undervoltaging their recent Intel CPUs.

So, in general, Undervoltaging isn't impossible.Seems correct, that section should probably state something like :
On many newer intel processors undervolting is blocked, also motherboard/firmware vendors can disable it completely .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

i misinterpret the developer of throttled, erpalma, wrong.
he wrote
===== Notice that undervolt is typically locked from 10th gen onwards! =====
so yeah it's locked, not impossible... sorry for the misinformation!
unfortunately lenovo doesn't expose such settings mentioned in the reddit threads in the firmware menu. if someone knows how to enter the hidden bios settings menu on a thinkpad p14s g3 12th gen intel, i'm all ears
