Hey!
I'm having some issues with a couple of monitors I just got, LS27A60PUUUXEN. I use a dell dock to connect to my laptop via USB-C and from the dock I connect to the first monitor with DP, then from that monitors DP-out I connect to the second one's DP.
I have a similar setup at work where the daisy chain is working but at home I can't get it to work at all.
DP version on both monitors is 1.2. When the DP-out is set to SST both monitors work but are detected as one so they are mirrored.
When I set DP-out to MST they are detected as individual but the monitor screens go blank and they then turn off cause they don't receive any signal.
If I don't daisy chain and just connect each monitor to the dock separately it works as intended but I really want to get it working with daisy chain.
I have installed mesa and xf86-video-intel
I'm pretty new to arch and don't know where to start digging so I'm hoping that someone here might help me and point me in the right direction ![]()

sudo journalctl --since "20 min ago" | grep intel
That's mostly useless, the relevant strings would be somewhere along drm, dp, vga, mst, crt and i915
Please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.stPlease post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General (after/when using MST)
Does it work when you set the outputs to a lower mode (eg. 1024x768@60Hz)?

Just tried and the problem remains, SST works but as soon as I put DP out to MST the screens go dark
Tell me if I misunderstood something, but I think those are the logs you were asking about

Only DP-1-1-8 shows up in the xorg log?
And DP-1-1-8 and DP-1-1-1 seem to be clones.
Just tried and the problem remains
What's the resulting "xrandr -q" output?

Only DP-1-1-8 shows up in the xorg log?
And DP-1-1-8 and DP-1-1-1 seem to be clones.Just tried and the problem remains
What's the resulting "xrandr -q" output?
Just restarted lightdm and now it looks like it says connected on the DP-1-1-1 as well, where do you see that they are clones?

Sorry but I don't quite get what you mean?

The format is WxH+X+Y, look at the +X+Y
Yes, both outputs are in the xorg log - the other one was perhaps from an SST stint?
Does MST work if you skip the dock?

Ah ok, I moved the displays around a bit in the second one, for the first xandr I didn't, both logs are from having MST active
My laptop only has USB-C unfortunately and I don't have a dongle to try connecting it directly

I have a similar setup at work where the daisy chain is working but at home I can't get it to work at all.
Do you have a chance to mix that HW, eg. introduce the home notebook and/or dock to your workplace setup or use parts of the HW from your workplace (notebook, dock) at home?

I use the same HW as I have at work, bringing the dock and laptop with me
So the only difference is the monitors, starting to think that it is some firmware for the monitors that are faulty but then again they do work in MST mode with my macbook pro

Can you get hands on a different dock and/or try the dock w/ the macbook (or are you already using said dock w/ the macbook)?

Yeah its the same dock that I use with the macbook and it works with the monitors in MST mode
I also updated the dock firmware during the weekend but the issue still remains, thinking I have to give up the idea of daisychaining and just use two cables

UPDATE
I just tried using USB-C/thunderbolt from the dock to the first monitor and then from DP-out to the next monitor DP-in and it works
should I mark this as solved even though the main issue is not solved(dock -> DP-in, DP-out -> DP-in) since my problem is solved?
