I am unable to get my system to update! It is spitting out a message
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
rav1e: /usr/lib/librav1e.so.0.6 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
I used the command:
sudo pacman -Suy --overwrite usr/lib/rav1e.so.0.6
What am I doing wrong? I thought this was marked as "solved"

Please post the full output from the command you are running along with the command itself.

The name of the file is “librav1e.so.0.6”, not “rav1e.so.0.6”.

Thank you for pointing out my incorrect filename usage, that did the trick

lol simple typo
sudo pacman -Syu

No, the OP put the wrong pattern into the overwrite - "Suy" is godless heresy and morally wrong and logical nonsense… but it'll still work exactly as "Syu"

LOL, you have to tell me why it's godless heresy + morally wrong Kek!

Did I do this properly by editing post by putting [SOLVED] in subject line?
