I have two monitors, both plugged into the graphics card (GTX 1070); the primary display is through a DisplayPort cable, and the secondary monitor is through HDMI. Both monitors output 2560x1080 together fine.
I noticed the gnome settings calls my primary display ' Unknown 34" ', and that this display is unaffected by the night light that is working perfectly fine on the second monitor. My eyes hate this The issue appears on both Xorg and Wayland, and it remains an issue post-reinstall. Disconnecting the second monitor and swapping the primary monitor to HDMI _does_ resolve this issue (dunno if it's 'Known', but night light now works on it), but the graphics card only has 1 HDMI slot, and the other monitor has no DisplayPort slots, so I'm kinda stuck with the primary display on DisplayPort if I'm to use both monitors.
Any ideas on how to... "know" this display on DisplayPort, or to get the night light to work on both monitors?

Hello,
I had a similar problem, I believe it was fixed by enabling drm mode setting (see here for details)
