dracut vs mkinitcpio

I use dracut instead of mkinitcpio and want to edit/duplicate hooks like I would with mkinitcpio. What would be different with dracut?
Here's a link to some edits that are along the lines of what I'd want to do using dracut: https://github.com/craig4747/Nested-enc … wiki/HOWTO. It works good with mkinitcpio but I'm testing out dracut. Is it the same with dracut?

I have no idea how dracut works, but according to the wiki, something called modules exists, with man dracut.modules.
