"Loading Initramfs" very slow

I recently upgraded to the new 2.6.19 beyond kernel and the new pata driver subsystem. For some reason, it now takes about a minute to load the image. Before, with 2.6.18ck and other kernels, it took a second or two. I'm using the standard kernel26beyond.img, not the fallback one.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thanks,
