HTTP proxy seems to be working fine and I'm able to access ftp.archlinux.org from Mozilla, but pacman keeps giving this error message:
connect: Connection timed out.
error: cannot connect to <http.proxy>
Proxy in this error message is correct and it worked fine when I used it to update itself. Really strange. Any suggestions appreciated.

Got it working!
It was my mistake. Now the pacman is running correctly and not getting its settings from some env variables that I've been using before.

Ok, here's the story so far:
Previously I was depending on ftp_proxy variable. I'm not sure why it worked (maybe pacman uses wget?), but now it started using ProxyServer variable in pacman.conf which I had assigned, but didn't have a port number in it.
Now it works, but for some reason, it's printing same download in multiple lines. Looks bit weird, but if it works I'm not complaining
