I doubt it will affect arch users much, but from what i read KDE4 will look alot like vista (e.g. superkaramab is a default package), looks quite swish.

They've had those developmental snapshots you can test out for a while now. I've been reading they're easy to hose your system if you're not careful though. I used to be 100% into Kde and against Gnome so much. I've recently converted and even though a couple things annoy me, it's still here to stay I think.
Kde4 intrigues me, but it really makes me sad that they're porting QT to windows.

Qt has been out for windows for a while; did you mean that you were disappointed about kde4(minus kdesktop) being ported to windows?

I used to hate QT and KDE, but I've grown to like it more and more, granted I still can't stand ANY desktop environment, I must have my own setup using Openbox and a ton of apps stolen from wherever, I still think of the major desktop environments, KDE, GNOME and XFCE, that KDE is the best.
Also, I actually like QT more now than I do GTK, but I still can't get rid of some of my favourite GTK applications, such as Sylpheed-claws/Claws Mail and Gaim, KMail and Kopete just don't do it for me.

Maybe that was it. Was so long ago when I last wrote it I don't know wtf I was referring to.
Either way, Windows users' shouldn't have access to Amarok imo.
It's the one single program I can't stop using no matter what environment I choose.
I used to never be able to stand GTK and lived only within KDE thinking non-QT apps looked like crap. I've recently done a 180 turn around that changed my whole way of thinking after I did realize how much slower KDE and it's apps ran when compared to other environments, at least for me and I've got a pretty damn nice comp setup. I would hate to be using it on a slower computer like my gf's laptop all the time. I don't know how she uses it. That thing makes me want to hurt kittens when I have do anything on it. When I have to use KDE on it, it makes it much worse.
I hope the much boasted "speed improvements" are really there and that good for that matter. It would help it out significantly imo.
