Hello! I don't know if it's a Steam problem, Arch problem or every Steam Linux version problem.
Steam form official Arch repository;
Wayland;
Gnome 45;
I'm trying to run Windows games with Proton, in Big Picture mode;
When I press Guide (or Middle) button in gamepad, Steam should open overlay's dash, but instead of this, open the dash in Big Picture window (wrong window) not in game window.

I tried to solve with, but nothing bellow solved the problem:
Use gamescope;
Use steam big picture and Steam OS sessions (with and without gamescope);
Steam flatpak version.

Hello! I just tested some OS's (Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 23.10, Manjaro and EndeavourOS), and same thing happens. So that's Steam issue at all.
This issue even happens in Windows, but less frequently.
A workaround that I found is:
Open Steam in Big Picture mode;
Open da game;
When game showns, do Alt+Tab for another window;
Release Alt+Tab;
Do Alt+Tab again back to game.
It's a bit disappointing, considering the fact the major part people who use Steam in Big Picture mode is far from keyboard. You can use the Guide+Back (Guide+Options / Guide+Select) on gamepad, 'cause that's default shortcut for Alt+Tab on Steam, but fail major part of time.
I gave up to find a real fix considering that's happen in Windows too (but more supportable). Maybe on Steam Deck and AMD this works better?

Hi thanks for the response.
I'm doing the same workaround as you described and I have a full amd system with both cpu and gpu, so on amd it's the same.
It sucks having to have a keyboard near me.
