Hello,
I'm getting issues with alsamixer not detecting my soundblaster audgy fx.

Random greps aren't helpful here, but the emu10k1 module isn't loaded.
Let's start w/
lspci -k

The alsa-firmware package contains firmware that may be required for certain sound cards (e.g. Creative SB0400 Audigy2).
Do you have alsa-firmware installed ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

I installed lxde, it installed the drivers for the sound but still doesn't detect microphone input. How can I know what drivers it installed, because I plan on running a plane dwm system.

I don't know what drivers it installed, but after installing lxde sound seems to work without microphone input... I'd like to know which are the drivers required to get both sound output and microphone input for the audgy fx.

check your pacman log but it's more likely that alsa-firmware did the job (you don't need the emu10k modules with that chip)

There're front and rear microphones and boosters - they're all tuned down.
Don't they show up in "alsamixer"?
(You need to press F4 to see input channels)

Thanks,
But oddly, discord still doesn't collect any input from my mic. And I still don't get what drivers were installed with lxde to get the sound working, sadly I don't know how to check pacman logs for that information.

I don't know how to check pacman logs for that information.
Read the log and see which packages were pulled in with LXDE.

The pacman log is plain text in [drumroll] /var/log
But oddly, discord still doesn't collect any input from my mic
Did you increase the channel volumes (which ones? updateds amixer) and/or activated the boosters?
Did you plug the mic into the proper jack?
Does arecord work?
Offline
Sorry for being late,
arecord works without any issues, but discord still doesn't catch the mic. Is this a topic for a new thread?
Also is it possible that I can find the old logs somehow without running pacman -S lxde to catch what packages were also installed with lxde?

Directly from pacman via
sudo pacman -S discord
So that would be this? (user kenny)
sudo usermod -a -G audio kenny
So these should be the drivers right?
