I installed Windows on VBox until a few days ago (after several failed attempts) and now I am installing it with QEMU/KVM. But I have the following situation; I have a /home separated file directory and /root allocated 30GB.
The last time I had 15GB of empty space, with a 10GB .iso file it was almost full. During the 2nd install I suddenly got a "disk full" warning, but I was installing windows on my second hard drive, dev/sda, not on /dev/sdb.
But in the name of installation and to free up space before cleanup, I took 30GB from /home and increased /root by 30GB.
Now again the 60GB disk is 90% full. Where's the problem? How can I find those files?
lsblk -f
NAME FSTYPE FSVER LABEL UUID FSAVAIL FSUSE% MOUNTPOINTS
sda
└─sda1 ntfs 60088AF635AAE556 236.6G 5% /mnt/windows
sdb
├─sdb1 vfat FAT32 8814-3939
└─sdb2 LVM2_member LVM2 001 KuCICM-uF8H-711T-0cDH-VWAR-0XWe-xtjiUF
├─volgroup0-lv_root ext4 1.0 44767b06-8ec6-4e6b-a84b-41ddf38ca9f6 5.6G 86% /
└─volgroup0-lv_home ext4 1.0 08aeb0db-0f82-4f0a-94ba-4a7f4f8b1e22 154.8G 3% /home
sr0 EDIT: I think I found the cause of the problem but I don't know how to fix it. sda (2nd disk) 1TB hard disk. I created a 250GB partition for windows. VBox created a 150GB disk. Yes nothing is installed but still windows is installed and running. How come only 5% is being used? As I suspected somehow windows using sdb or data is in sdb.
EDIT2: Tried:
I created a folder called /media/sda4 and it was located in sdb. Vbox files are there,
sudo mkdir -p /mnt/sda/windows
sudo mv /media/sda4/* /mnt/sda/windows
sudo rmdir /media/sda4
sudo umount /mnt/windows
sudo rmdir /mnt/windowsIt was kinda duplicating and connected with sdb but nope still %86 using.
Removing all the files of Windows, partitions and vbox himself & uninstalling solved it. Now the used is %30 ![]()
