Sorry, but after reading the news about the change from ide to pata in HOOKS, i'm still in doubt.
What i've clear, is that if a i have an intel and ide, must change from ide to pata, and, change the related things (grub, fstab..)
Until here, i think i understand.
I don't have a intel, VIA instead, and all the drives are IDE, so, must i change from ide to pata? Pata seems experimental, so, can i follow using ide?

As far as I understand it, you can continue using the ide hook for now, I have had no problems with it yet.
I made it long
as I lacked the time to make it short...
