I updated to 6.6.5 kernel and WiFi was not working and was unable to shutdown nor reboot (maybe this issue). I had to hard shutdown the system and now on rebooting I get :
error: no such device: 14BC-BB61
error: file '/EFI/grub_uefi/grubx64.efi' not found.
Did i destroy my hard drive?
I have Mint installed on another drive. From its lsblk I get:
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINTS
sda 8:0 0 1023.8M 0 disk
sdb 8:16 0 74.5G 0 disk
├─sdb1 8:17 0 512M 0 part /boot/efi
└─sdb2 8:18 0 74G 0 part /
sdc 8:32 0 232.9G 0 disk
├─sdc1 8:33 0 529M 0 part
├─sdc2 8:34 0 99M 0 part
├─sdc3 8:35 0 16M 0 part
├─sdc4 8:36 0 208.6G 0 part
└─sdc5 8:37 0 653M 0 part
As you can see sda was the drive that had Arch on it but now there's no root partition.
Thanks

Can gdisk find the backup partition table?
# gdisk /dev/sdaIt should offer to restore the table if it can.

Tried that just now:
GPT fdisk (gdisk) version 1.0.8
Partition table scan:
MBR: not present
BSD: not present
APM: not present
GPT: not present
Creating new GPT entries in memory.
Command (? for help):
The cursor blinks after the last line. Should I restart and check?
Thanks

It would have told you it was recovering if it found the backup table.

When I type "p", it shows:
Disk /dev/sda: 2096640 sectors, 1023.8 MiB
Model: SM59XT2A-10-0080
Sector size (logical/physical): 512/512 bytes
Disk identifier (GUID): D82407B7-AA3C-44E1-9C50-BC493805638E
Partition table holds up to 128 entries
Main partition table begins at sector 2 and ends at sector 33
First usable sector is 34, last usable sector is 2096606
Partitions will be aligned on 2048-sector boundaries
Total free space is 2096573 sectors (1023.7 MiB)
Since gdisk found nothing, I assume this SSD is dead. I don't care about the data but I wished I could revive it. Thanks anyways.
EDIT: I took the drive out and reconnected it. It now shows up with all the partitions.

PSA: 3rd link below. Mandatory.
Disable it (it's NOT the BIOS setting!) and reboot windows and linux twice for voodo reasons.

Very well! Looks like this was all about a minor hardware issue, although luckily nothing was broken.
Then maybe you could change the status of this thread to [SOLVED], now? ![]()
