mouse speed/acceleration under kernel24 /-26 under X

i just upgraded to the newest 2.6.5 kernel

have more kernels in my lilo (2.4, 2.6, 2.6-mm)

what i realized after update to 2.6.5 is:

the mouse in X booting kernel 2.6.5 is generally faster than in 2.4.x

it's not a problem, but i wondered why this is so and if anyone knows why

Re: mouse speed/acceleration under kernel24 /-26 under X

I had the same problem when I tried 2.6 when I was running Slackware, my mouse speeded up so much I had to set it to lowest speed and it would still be rather fast for my taste.

Either Arch Linux had a different configuration somewhere or they fixed it in later kernel revisions or related software, as my mouse is working pretty properly now with the average speed level setting.

ok, so it's not only my fantasy --- thanx for your reply :-)

the thing is that the speed difference is not that big for me ... it's only a little bit strange --- but nice as detector what kernel you are running
