License of PKGBUILD files in official repositories

Hi there,
Could you please clarify the license policy for PKGBUILDs and other files in the official repos at gitlab.

I can't find any license information except for the internal license for the upstream code itself.
I want to

• create a fork of the official package;

• patch it;

• make my own builds;

• release it under a free license.

It's not clear to me whether the code of PKGBUILDs is released under the non-proprietary license.
If the license is free, which license could I explicitly use in my repository?

PKGBUILDs are generally very formulaic and simple, they're usually considered not copyrightable.
