bluetooth headset and multiple audio apps together.

i have a bluetooth usb dongle which i use to connect bluetooth headsets to PC.
the problem is when i'm opening multiple audio sources, for example youtube in google chrome and playing a video in Kodi.
at first i can hear the sound from both sources.
but, if for example i pause the video in chrome for couple of minutes and in this time i'm playing something in Kodi, and then get back into chrome and continue playing the video, the video is playing fine, but without sound.
i can only fix this if i disconnect my bluetooth headset and reconnect it again.
then i can play again videos(sound) in both chrome and kodi and hear the sound from both sources.

this pattern is happening always from the beginning i started using the usb dongle to connect my headset.
it is happening with multiple bluetooth headsets.
i'm using pipewire and wireplumber (and GNOME).

Re: bluetooth headset and multiple audio apps together.

Potentially there are/were some issues with pipewire, however it's a moot point because bluez 5.71 is coredumping in the current release:

Is it just chrome disconnecting? and what happens if you just restart the browser without disconnecting the headphohnes?

Re: bluetooth headset and multiple audio apps together.

the problem is like a tree with multiple  branches.
i opened both chrome and firefox to check if it's happened on both.
i get there into a video in twitter.
i also opened kodi and played a video.
after waiting sometime, *without* playing anything in chrome/firefox/kodi, i get back to all of them and the sound was muted in all of the three.
then i came here to write this answer, but before finishing it, i tried again the browsers and kodi and suddenly the sound was on again in all of the three.
i pause all the sound sources and shutdown firefox.
after a while i again started playing the video in kodi and in chrome and again the sound was muted on both.
then i opened firefox and get into the video and it was still muted.
then i shutdown chrome and opened it and also the sound in the video was muted.
and i can say that after sometime i again continue playing the video in kodi and in chrome and again the sound was on.

Re: bluetooth headset and multiple audio apps together.

When you say 'muted' i assume you mean that there was no audio rather than it being actually muted.

It does sound like a known pipewire issue which i was assured was fixed, but here we are...

I am assuming your bluetooth connection is stable.

you are right.
it's my bad english.

yes, besides this issue the connection is stable.

[EDIT]
the headset is connected all the time.
the problem is just with the sound that stops and return...
(or stop in one app and continue in the other).
