WiFi issue during installation: Broadcom BCM4360

Hi All,
newbie here! Long time Ubuntu user, first time trying to install Arch stand alone on a Macbook Pro 13 A1502 (Intel, late 2013).
I am following the specific guide for Mac but I can't connect to WiFi. Googling a bit and reading the forum I understood the problem should be related with the WiFi card (Broadcom BCM4360) and its driver.
In particular in THIS POST mbatheme proposed a solution (Remove broadcom-wl package and use wpa_supplicant instead of iwd).
What I don't get is how can I do it considering that I am trying to install Arch booting a live environment from a usb.
How can I remove a package and install another one considering that I don't have internet connection (due to the WiFi issue)? There's a way to edit the packages inside an iso before the creation of the bootable usb? Or can I use a second usb (or a partition of of the one I'm using for the live boot)?

Sorry for the newbie question, probably it will sound stupid, but I couldn't find a solution yet. Thanks in advance for your time,

gu1d00.

Re: WiFi issue during installation: Broadcom BCM4360

Rumour has it that the Linux Mint live ISO includes Broadcom drivers in their "Driver Manager" (whatever that is). If that's true you could use that and follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Instal … ting_Linux to get Arch installed.

Use the arch-install-scripts package to get arch-chroot, pacstrap & genfstab:

https://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main … -1_all.deb

Or use tethering from a smartphone to get a connection from the Arch live ISO.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.

Before posting here I considered Tethering and was one of the options until I read this: Install the usb_modeswitch package.
Again, it's the same problem: how can I install a package from the live ISO without internet connection?

About the Linux Mint idea, it's an option, I will probably give it a try if there's no other way, but the need of another distro to be able to install Arch would be a bit disappointing.

The usb_modeswitch package isn't always needed for tethering. Try it and see.

EDIT: the live ISO already includes the usb_modeswitch package: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … heads#L117
