Random freezes on arch linux + i3 running minecraft.

Recently I did a clean installing of arch on the same hardware which had had no issues in the past. After setting up i3 + doing some ricing I installed minecraft and began to play. For some reason though, every 3-5 minutes the game would freeze for 1-5 seconds, only to be fixed instantly if I resized the window. I can provide video evidence if needed. While minor, it is very annoying as I enjoy pvp duels and often causes me to lose a match. Thank you!

What hardware? Remove xf86-video-intel if on integrated intel GPUs newer than 2011ish
