Flashplugin wont work in firefox

Even though I installed flashplugin-beta with pacman, firefox acts like its not there. What else do I have to do?
Also, in X firefox isnt in my path, but I have to type /opt/bin/mozilla/firefox to have it run. Weird? Yes.

cp `locate libflashplayer.so` ~/.mozilla/plugins/ && chmod 777 ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
