It does not mention SATA at all, only M.2 NVMe.

Sanity check:
1) How many disks were built into your PC when you initially started the thread?
2) Is the problematic disk actually connected via a cable or via an M.2 slot?

1)
  a nvme ssd
b sata hdd (also testet with sata ssd)

2) it is connected via sata. I have a variant of this mainboard with one sata connection socket.

Re: [SOLVED] fresh arch installation - /dev/sdax not visible (BIOS issue)

there are jumperson the mb sadly without description or manual

Contact the manufacturer? Since there's no sign of the sata drive anywhere (incl the firmware) and the description says that they're "configured via switches" it'd be really helpful to know what those ominous switches are. I'd be careful just testing the jumpers, you don't know what you're shorting circuiting there…

Re: [SOLVED] fresh arch installation - /dev/sdax not visible (BIOS issue)

short update: It was in computer upstate like seth expected.

I got a new OEM BIOS (CW-ALN4L-V2 Pioneer Edition, 2023-11-08) from cwwk for my hardware.
Now the sata disk is recognized by bios and archlinux of course.
Thanks @ all for helping.

Luckily it wasn't.
The computer upstate is on the farm upstate where all the retired dogs live…
