fingerprint authentication issues

the fingerprint sensor in my notebook works generally fine

pacman -Qs fprint
local/fprintd 1.94.2-2 (fprint)
    D-Bus service to access fingerprint readers
local/libfprint 1.94.6-1 (fprint)
    Library for fingerprint readers

but it's not recognizing any finger after i've done some hard work. these days i have to enroll the fingers quite often and it's getting annoying. in my experience smartphones don't have any issues unlocking, because software is adjusting the initially enrolled fingerprint on every unlock.

is there anything i can do about this issue on arch?
