I’m currently trying to install arch after a couple of months of using windows, and when I try to restart, my PC gives a ~1s beep and then an error about something com0 pops up. I’m using archinstall. I read that grub reports that there’s that kind of error and then should still boot, but I can’t. I get stuck on the GNU GRUB screen with options that go as follows:
Arch install medium
Arch install medium with screen reader
Memtest
Uefi shell
Uefi firmware settings
System shutdown
System reboot.
I have to add that I previously used arch as my daily driver for quite some time, and such an error never occured.

If you land in that menu, you are back in the ISO not in your GRUB.
Can you make e.g. a screen recording with your phone or so so we actually see your error?

I can’t see the option to actually post it here, but I’ll figure something out, and post it/a link to it in a couple minutes.

Ok, so after getting your reply I was in the middle of reinstallinc, and now this colossus popped up out of nowhere.

That is an entirely different problem but try https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Pacman … nown_trust so we can continue with this thread.

Here’s the link to the video, don’t mind the background noise, but that’s what happens.

Please extract a single frame from the video that shows the error message and share it here.

Here you go, just missing an ‘e’ in the beginning.

Have you actually installed the system? If so what happens if you remove the Arch live USB stick?
Your video shows you selecting the "System reboot" option followed by a system reboot. That is to be expected.

Ok I’m an idiot. I forgot to remove the usb which seems to have been causing the issue. Everything works now. Thanks for the help, I’m gonna go cry in the corner of shame now…

No shame d00d. We all make mistakes. Welcome to Arch :-)
