EDIT: The solution was in the docs, I skipped over an important step of creating an /$HOME/.xerverrc file and modifying it as outlined in the docs https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xinit#xserverrc
Hello all, I am relatively inexperienced with Arch.
I cannot get my Sound Cards to be recognized by pulseaudio after I have started my xorg server(EDIT without superuser permissions)
I know that the hardware is being recognized by the OS because I can see it if I start my pulseaudio server before I start X.
$ pulseaudio --start

As far as I can tell, my GPU is functioning well. I can monitor it with nvtop and see how it performs with steam games. The only issue(I'm aware of) is related to audio.
I have re-created my .xinitrc file from the defualt /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc config and it has not made any noticeable difference.
I have been able to get my cards recognized by using

Please use

tags. Edit your post in this regard.
Please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General
Chances are that the HDMI is on a dGPU and you're deactivating that when starting X11?
Also, are you using pulseaudio, pipewire or both?
Offline
I never configured and just uninstalled pipewire then rebooted, no luck. I'm only using pulseaudio.

I'm wondering if I just need to setup udev rules?

I don't think that's related. after starting xorg
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
printenv DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
systemctl --user status pulseaudiochances are you're simply starting xorg without importing the user environment into systemd, make sure you've read and applied the notes in http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xinit#xinitrc wrt the imports you need to do when using startx.

Thanks for the help!
