Strange mouse behavior running Steam in Gamescope

I run Steam in Gamescope with:

gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 120 -e -- steam

everything works fine but I get a strange mouse behavior, the pointer changes size based on what I'm hovering on.

Does anybody have any idea?
