I just rebuilt a box with two hd's on one ide contoller. One is for storage and is ext3 (/dev/hdb). The other is auto-partitioned with the installer (/dev/hda). Normally I remove the storage hd and just add it to fstab later and remount it. I used the earlymodules=piix workaround and got up and running. I added hdb and edited fstab and a bit later it crashed complaining that ext3 filesystem was not found. Checked it out and it is nuked. Everything is scrambed in lost+found. I had to mount it ext2 to see it. Im wondering if there are issues with device naming that may have caused this. Sorry this is vague but Im at work. Ill post specifics when I get home later if needed. Another question is how to proceed to salvage all my mp3s and vids!
