How to launch VSCODE with admin privileges.

I have installed the vscode from yay. The 'visual-studio-code-bin' package from aur.

I have an extension "Apc Custom UI" that requires vscode to have admin privileges. When i launch the application it shows the below error in vscode.

Apc Extension failed: Error: EACCES: permission denied, rename '/opt/visual-studio-code/resources/app/out/bootstrap-amd.js' -> '/opt/visual-studio-code/resources/app/out/bootstrap-amd.js.apc.extension.backup'

How do i resolve this?

Re: How to launch VSCODE with admin privileges.

Looks like this may be an upstream issue, see https://github.com/drcika/apc-extension/issues/131

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Re: How to launch VSCODE with admin privileges.

Same as https://github.com/drcika/apc-extension/issues/124

Don't try to run visual studio as root!
Do not run any of the chmod/chown insanities in the upstream bug comments!

The only correct answer is to not use this extension, metoo the upstream bugs and ask the maintainer to fix that.
Afaics it's just to rice-up vscode for r/unixporn? Simply abandon that idea - or at least using that extension for the purpose.
