I am trying to get temperature of nvidia without changing its state from suspend to active - https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PRIME# … Management

Problem -
- I want to display nvidia-gpu temp in waybar with interval of around 5seconds or less.
- If i get the temperature using any of these three methods - nvidia state changes to "active" from "suspend"
- going from "active" to "suspend" takes around 30seconds(variable)
- if i query with interval of 5, it will never shift to "suspend" state and will be locked in "active" state.

I don't positively know but suspect that's not gonna be possible.
I'd suggest to test whether the GPU is suspended and print "idle" instead of the temperature - if it's heatig up in that state your device is probably on fire and you should put it over there with the other fire wink

Yes, will have to give up on nvidia-gpu temp. This can be fixed from nvidia-company side only.

How does amd gpu work ? Does it have also has 'suspend state' ? Does it also wake up if queried for temps?
