wxPthon 2.7 and 2.8

I notice that wxPython in the repository is only 2.6 series.

2.7 has been out for a while, and 2.8 RC are being tested which includes things like finally a proper rich text widget for linux as opposed to the older styled text control.

Wondered if there is any plans to upgrade?

We should get it soon. wxWidgets 2.8 was finally released today (2.7 was a development series). A final 2.8 version of wxPython should soon follow, and then we just have to wait for both to get into the repos.

good to here.

I installed it from source just now into /opt/wx/2.8 just to get it usable, however a  packagebuild (don't know how) would be fabulous.
