How to permanently add IP address to interface ?

I tried to set up a LAN network between my two laptops using an Ethernet cable. I set their static IP addresses and gave them to their interfaces. I can ping between the two laptops. But when my laptop reboots the given IP address to the interface isn't permanent. Is there a way to make it work as I'm trying to use it for Wake-on-LAN ?

Re: How to permanently add IP address to interface ?

It depends on network manager you are using:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … k_managers

Example for Network Manager:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … rt_to_DHCP

Instead of setting static IP by network managers you can also set "ARP binding" on your router, so addressess will be reserved for hardware with defined MAC address.
