Can't launch some applications in Plasma Wayland session

Some applications are not started when I click on their icons in the Plasma desktop launcher menu under a Wayland session. These can be started fine from Konsole. Other applications behave just fine all around. The issue does not show up in  a X11 session. Details here.

Anyone with the same problem? Suggestions?

Joplin runs fine under Plasma Wayland when launched from the Konsole command line, so we are not talking about it not working at all under Wayland.

The .desktop file shipped with 'joplin' starts the app in a modified environment. My suggestion would be to create a local .desktop file overwriting that behaviour (remove 'env' entirely, and/or add electron/wayland specific variables flags - see link above...).
