steam does not start on wayland with proprietary nvidia driver[SOLVED]

[SOLVED] driver issue, had to install the dmks because I had switched kernel

steam does not work, when I run steam it errors with

steam.sh[3680]: Running Steam on arch rolling 64-bit
steam.sh[3680]: STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
setup.sh[3755]: Steam runtime environment up-to-date!
steam.sh[3680]: Can't find 'steam-runtime-check-requirements', continuing anyway

neither of which are 32bit clients. Is lib32-nvidia-utils and lib32-libx11 installed?

it seems like nvidia decided to shit itself, nvidia-smi fails (decided to check after the hdmi monitor wasn't working)

nvm I'm just a huge fucking idiot: solution is not to forget to install the nvidia-dmks driver when switching kernel, sorry to have wasted your time
