I have a LibreOffice spreadsheet. Some cells are showing in Arial font, but Arial is not on the font selection list.
When selecting such a cell it shows as Arial, and I can change to a different font, but cannot change back as it is not on the list; (the top font alphabetically is cantarell.)
Is there a way to make the font available for selection for other cells?

The description fits a situation, where a document is using a typeface that is missing in the system. Do you have Arial installed? If not see installing Microsoft fonts section.

Right. I can install microsoft fonts which would include Arial; that should resolve this issue, though I am still confused on how the document can successfully use a font that is not available on the system. Maybe the font is embedded in the file?
Thanks, in any case.

More likely the font is being listed as Arial because that's what the file specifies, but it's being rendered with a font that's listed as being compatible with Arial
