Two channel microphones are usually a lie, do things work if you mute one of the channels if you check e.g. in pavucontrol? What are you using to record? During a recording attempt what's your output for
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*

What a guy I am... I bought a Maono AU-102 microphone, in order for it to work with the computer you have to switch it to "Camera" mode
