[SOLVED] Login loop with LightDM and BSPWM

I'm running LightDM, bspwm on a HP laptop with Nvidia graphics. I don't remember if I updated something yesterday but when I turned on my computer today I was stuck in a login loop on the lightDM greeter.
I accidentally removed my last timeshift backup so I'm stuck.
Here are the lightDM log and jpurnalctl-b. I've been looking at them for a while but can't make sense of it. Can anyone help me? Tell me if there's more relevant info I can share.

What's your nvidia GPU? Generally speaking get rid of optimus-manager and setup https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PRIME# … er_offload instead. Contents of /var/log/lightdm/x-0.log and more generally /var/log7Xorg.0.log might also be interesting

Based on the constant issues, the PRIME tip seems like good advice. I'm using a GTX 1050 mobile. Here's the lightdm log and the Xorg log

There's no obvious issue here, things start and stop correctly but quickly. Is your bspwm crashing or do you have bogus user/shell init files? Check for coredumps: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Core_d … _core_dump and post/check your shell init files like bashrc or zshrc and the like.

Re: [SOLVED] Login loop with LightDM and BSPWM

Well I solved it... kinda. I suspected it was a lightDM problem but removing lightDM didn't solve it. It turned out my .xinitrc file had something wrong, changed it to the default one and everything works again. Had to delete lightDM (which I wanted to do anyway someday).
