DAAPD and Rendezvous Woes

Well, I wanted to set up a server that itunes could access, so I downloaded Rendezvous (http://www.opensource.apple.com/project … ous.tar.gz) and the mt-daapd from the AUR. I had to use gcc3 to compule rendezvous, but with that it worked fine. The problem comes when I try to start them. DAAPD shows that it starts fine (although a closer look shows that there is no check in the init script), but after it starts, there is no process with daap in the name anywhere. The last line in the log file is:
2006-12-14 19:54:19: Registering rendezvous names via avahi

Rendezvous, on the other hand, I start with

mDNSProxyResponderPosix 192.168.1.170 squeal "Lagbox Music" _daap._tcp. 3689 &

Lagbox being what I call my server and 192.168.1.170 being its ip address. I am getting all this from the tutorial at http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php? … 1140157143.

Rendezvous simply segmentation faults without any explanation. I really am lost here. Has anyone gotten this working? (someone must have, because there isnt any use for the mt-daapd package without all this).

Re: DAAPD and Rendezvous Woes

I simply downloaded the latest mt-daapd from the website and installed it - works like a charm. Already am sharing my entire MP3 collection.
