Blank screen after login using Gnome, above 60Hz

Hi,

Some relevant sys details:

Kernel: 6.7.5-arch1-1
DE: GNOME 45.4
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
(Driver Version: 545.29.06 )

Symptom:
When booting up, (or rebooting) I can reach the login screen fine and complete the log in process however, gnome does not display. I have a blank screen, no mouse or input or anything.
This is an issue using both Wayland and X11 sessions.

After some investigation:
1. When setting: Gnome Settings > Displays > Refresh Rate > 60Hz, gnome displays fine after login without any user intervention.
2. When setting: any rate higher than 60Hz (144Hz for example) I get a blank screen after login.
3. It takes me 2 tries to get gnome to set 144Hz from the default 60Hz, the first time it hangs on a blank screen (like when you try a setting outside of the monitors ability) the second try it sets 144Hz as intended.

At the blank screen, I have been doing either of these two things to get into gnome at 144Hz...
A. Power cycle the monitor
or
B. Jump to a tty (Ctrl Alt F3) and straight back to GUI (Ctrl Alt F2)
...at which point gnome is displayed and runs as intended which makes me think it's maybe related to point #3 above.

Using a hardware feature on my monitor I can see that the login screen is running at 60Hz. (Post, boot menu, and gnome, when I get in, are all running at 144Hz)

If anyone has any suggestions or point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.
