status of xorg7.1?

i've been away from arch for awhile and am getting back up to speed; what is the status of xorg 7.1? i see the versions for the components are right at or newer than the 7.1 stuff in the forums from a while back

http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … highlight=

so what am i missing?  also is it possible to get DRI working with an intel i810 with xorg 7 or do i need to do something different?

thanks for any help.

Re: status of xorg7.1?

i may be confused here, why does it say version 11R7.0-1 for the xorg version in the current repo? it is marked out of date.  could someone post a working xorg.conf for an i810 with DRI working?  thanks..

That's because it's only a dummy package which depends on xorg-server, xorg-xkb-utils, xorg-xauth, xorg-server-utils, xorg-xinit, xf86-video-vesa, xf86-input-mouse, xf86-input-keyboard.

I think this should help you... Your xorg.conf should contain these lines. NOTE: I'm using an ATI card and not an i810. This should work for you if you've already successfully configured the basic stuff.

Section "Module"
   Load "dri"
   Load "glx"
   ...
EndSection
...
Section "DRI"
   Mode 0666
EndSection
...

There's a lot of information available here: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/dri-howto.xml
