[Solved]Display manager is freezing

Issue : Display manager is freezing

overview : when I boot the OS, it successfully loads the sddm login screen. After 2-3 seconds it'll freeze.

system info:
- cpu : amd a-7310
- gpu : radeon r4
- ram : 4gb
- disk: 500gb

steps to reproduce:
- I'm not sure, the last thing I remeber that might have caused it is me changing the plymouth theme without -R / rebuilding mkinitcpio.

changes made:
- Tried to reinstall display drivers (amdgpu, mesa , vulkan radeon) and run the system without it as well as individually.
- Changed the Display manager and tried lightdm instead of sddm.
- reinstall the system with archinstall with hyprland setup.
- Tried to reinstall the entire system multiple times.
- Installed by self as well as with archinstall script.

expected behavior:
- Display manager should take password input and log me in to the system.

actual behavior:
- Display manager is freezing.

error messages:
- Display manager is freezing and no errors are shown

steps taken:
- checked `journalctl -xe | grep -iE 'xorg|wayland|plymouth|sddm'`

output:

```
Re: [Solved]Display manager is freezing
Known issue on mesa 24 with the radeon kernel driver, see: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p2151301
Re: [Solved]Display manager is freezing
Do you think this should happen without mesa,amdgpu or vulkan-radeon. I'm not too literate on drivers yet. I tried to install mesa-git 24.1 multiple times but the compilation time is way too long and compilation just gets stuck at a single file randomly. I also tried to install amdonly-gaming-mesa-git but it installed mesa in the process and then later wouldn't install because mesa was now already installed.
I also installed plasma-meta without drivers. It was installed and I checked that no drivers were installed and yet I received the exact same error.
Is there something I can do? Also, am I look at the correct page here? https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/10613
thank you for looking at this.
Re: [Solved]Display manager is freezing
It happens because you're not using the amdgpu kernel driver. Your card is technically eligible for it and information to enable it is in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU … K)_support which will fix it and give you more features.
If you want this to work without that, downgrade mesa to 23.3.5 and follow this bug report, that's the one where this is tracked in that's correct
