No Window Decoration(Title Bar) With Beryl

Hi!

I've followed the instructions in the wiki and installed nvidia drivers and then beryl. However, when I enabled it through the beryl manager the borders of the every window are simply nonexistant. Other effects like the cube and wobbly windows are fine though.

# beryl-manager

(beryl-manager:3146): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.

That's what I get in the shell output. Glxgears performance took a huge dip(expectedly). But enemy territory performance doesn't seem to be affected.

Any help deeply appreaciated. Thanks!

Thanks in advance!

Re: No Window Decoration(Title Bar) With Beryl

ps. Currently the only gripe I have with beryl is that it spoils the opera sidebar grip toggle and the scrollbar at the very right hand side of the screen in opera.

Sad..

Thanks in advance!

Re: No Window Decoration(Title Bar) With Beryl

Did you follow the "Using nvidia drivers" section in the wiki? When I used kubuntu before arch, I had to enable "Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals"" for it to work with the borders. (It crashes kwin, the window manager, without that option).

Edit, and make sure you add the rest of the stuff in that section...  If everything fails, remove the composite extension (Causes problems sometimes I heard)

Ya I've used the nvidia wiki and added the ARGB thingy.

If everything fails, remove the composite extension

i deleted the config's emerald and beryl

How to?

Thx in advance!

Re: No Window Decoration(Title Bar) With Beryl

I think I've found a simple fix; just SELECT the window decorator from the right click menu!! I thought it should have been selected by default.. sorry for any trouble..

Anyway the opera problem still isn't solvable..

However, using the aquamarine(KDE) window decorator sometimes results in black windows when maximised..

Thanks in advance!
