[XFCE] Kbd shortcuts for kbd layout toggling no longer work (SOLVED)

Hello everybody, thanks for reading,

Since quite a long time keyboard shortcuts for toggling the keyboard layout is no longer effective in XFCE 4.18.3-1.

Previously, I set the XFCE keyboard parameter for keyboard layout toggling (fr<>ar) to simultaneous pressing <Ctrl>+<Shift> and this used to work fine and switched alternatively from one layout to the other.
But since quite a few months, keyboard shortcuts (any) for switching the active keyboard layout no longer work and I have to click on the layout indicator in the XFCE panel to have it changed which is not convenient at all.

Can someone please tell me how to have the keyboard shortcuts for keyboard layout toggling  working again with this XFCE current version (4.18.3-1) ?

EDIT :
After a bit of a fumble I found out that one of both keyboard layout variants used on my system is now no longer maintained in the list of actual available variants which forbade the switching to it.
Choosing another layout variant restored the switching by shortcut functionality.
