Could not prepare Boot variable: Function not implemented

Greetings fellow Arch users,

I'm trying to install arch linux. My system is multiboot: Windows, Kali, and (hopefully) Arch.

I already have grub installed from kali.

But I find myself on the "installing bootloader" section of the guide.

I'm trying to install grub but it says the following:

Could not prepare Boot variable: Function not implemented.

What am I doing incorrectly here?

Re: Could not prepare Boot variable: Function not implemented

Are you trying UEFI mode install but haven't booted the stick itself in UEFI mode?

Re: Could not prepare Boot variable: Function not implemented

Yeah, I think that was the initial issue. I didn't really understand the difference between UEFI and BIOS and their respective partition configurations. Got a book, and did a bunch of research, so I finally understood what was the problem and fixed it. I now I have debian, arch and windows 11 installed in UEFI mode, and all booting from grub upon computer start up.

Thanks for your help though. Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to see if I could learn what was happening and if I could correct this problem myself. The help is much appreciated.
