hi,
I I switch from windows operating system couple of years ago because i feel it is not a reliable OS. Virus attacked and it made shortcuts of my files. I learn linux & I switch into Linux because it is stable and rock solid. My first linux distro was Ubuntu.Just after few months I installed Debian. Debian is really a stable operating system and I never feel any problem during my daily usage .Libreoffice for office work , Firefox for daily browsing and VirtualBox to run any windows base application.
On the other side I use my old laptop & install Arch Linux into it. Xfce is my favorite desktop. The above packages (Libreoffice,VirtualBox,Firefox ) are installed in it. I have learned Linux more when I configure Arch .From installation process to building my own desktop environment I learn new things. The beauty of Arch Linux is ,the user have to build things for his own desktop ,it is lightweight.
For backup purpose " Time Shift " is already installed and i have already taken backup of my root drive. Arch is a rolling based distro which means there are almost daily updates from Arch official repository. The thing which fear me that after updating Arch it may not break/collapse my operating system. To keep smooth everting what points should a user may keep in mind when updating the Arch Linux.
Thanks in advance.

Feel free to peruse the various subforums are read about peoples problems and solutions to your hearts content. If you run into issues maintaining your own system, which you can't resolve by yourself after consulting the ArchWiki, then create a new topic in an appropriate subforum and provide as much detail as you can, someone will likely be able to help.
