hello everyone ![]()
I've been at this for 3 days now:
whenever i do a:
sudo pacman -Syuit keeps coming back with an error:
-> error making: electron25-exit status 1
-> Failed to install the following packages. Manual intervention is required:it takes i while to clone the repo its pulling from too never mind actually compiling it. I wonder what I can do to fix it.
right now I just use the --ignore flag for the electron 25 package just so I can update. feels icky.
has this ever happened to anyone?

That is not a pacman error output. What is it you're actually running (type -a pacman) and which application do you actually need electron25 for?
pactree -r electron25 #From pacman-contribthat said https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/electron25-bin is a thing and likely to generally work. If you want to check the build error post the full unaltered output and the actual command you're running
Moving to AUR issues...

hello thanks for your quick reply.
is that command supposed to output packages that depend on electron25?
`coz it just outputs itself in a single line. does that mean i don't need it?

ty, I wonder if there's a tool that can tell me what other packages I've installed that nothing depends on and am not using. can anyone recommend one for me?

Have you looked at System_maintenance#Check_for_orphans_and_dropped_packages?
