I have a laptop with an NVIDIA gpu in it and a external display connected to it. After setting up the display settings, then reboot, and all the display settings are back to default, and all my monitors' position is set to 0,0 , scale is 1, mode returned to 0.
I am not sure whether it is associated with NVIDIA because everything worked well in plasma5, after upgrading to plasma6, this problem occours.
BTW, I can not find
kscreenunder
~/.local/share, the only way I can find is to use kscreen-doctor to set the display settings manually every time I log in to the plasma6. ![]()

Are you using X11 or Wayland? Plasma 6 defaults to Wayland while plasma 5 on Arch defaults to X11. And this cause a lot of problems with Nvidia gpus, since Nividia's Wayland support is not good. You can switch your session type on the login screen (SDDM). Note that the display setting under X11 and Wayland are managed independently by KDE.

I use wayland both in plasma5 and 6 and in plasma5, it works well, except some small glitch.
I also noticed that when I log in with my laptop's lid closed, The settings would be reset. However, when logging in with my laptop's lid and screen on, nothing strange will happen and everything works as expected.

I can not find ~/.local/share/kscreen
How do you setup the display settings? systemsettings or nvidia-settings?

Did you explicitly configure the outputs in this configuration or do you boot w/ the lid closed, open it and then the outputs don't get re-arranged as expected?
Edit: oh, and do you get the same behavior w/ plasma on X11 (regardless of what maybe happened w/ plasma 5)
